Sussex Event Bars run The Bedford Pub in Horsham: a community pub hosting live music and a full programme of community events. We also provide bar services for outdoor events ranging from 100 – 3000 people throughout Sussex. We pride ourselves on our partnerships with our local communities, working with local producers and breweries and delivering a great drinks range to our customers we are passionate about.
Our pub is open 7 days a week with morning opening for coffee and late opening on Friday and Saturdays with a full programme of events. The pub is currently wet led but we expect our trade kitchen to be finished by May so having a passion for food as well as bar experience is beneficial. Our outdoor events are typically during the summer months on Friday evenings, Saturdays and some Sundays with a mix of daytime and evenings.
We’re looking for team members that bring their own personality to the role, are passionate about the drinks they serve and willing to take on a wide range of responsibilities and learn new skills particularly when it comes to working on our outdoor events.
The Bedford Pub Supervisor
20 – 25 hours per week across 3-4 days
£13.80 per hour plus holiday pay
- Working some midweek opens or closes as well as weekend events (e.g. live music Saturdays) on rotation.
- Experience in both food and beverage preferred
- Barista trained an advantage (we are looking to develop our morning / breakfast offer)
- Driving license, Personal License and previous supervisor experience beneficial.
Start Date: Mid march
Chef / Kitchen Manager
45 hours per week across 5 days
£14.80 per hour plus bonus based on agreed KPI’s
- Developing pub classics and daily specials menu including Sunday roasts, Lunch and Brunch options
- Prep, ordering and service of dine in and takeaway orders
- Focus on simple quality ingredients with focus on working with local producers for specials and signature dishes
Chef
25 hours per week across 3-4 days
£13.45 per hour plus holiday pay
- Open / close and food prep
- Rotation with Kitchen Manager
- Delivering pub classics and daily specials menu including Sunday roasts, Lunch and Brunch options
Bar Crew – Part Time Contracted
The Bedford Pub and Outdoor events in Horsham
15 – 20 hours per week across 2-3 days to include some weekend availability.
£13.45 per hour plus holiday pay

Minimum of 10 hours per month – flexible with some Saturday availability needed

- Flexibility to work across both outdoor events and pub venue in Horsham with both daytime and evening shift availability (including weekends)
- Opportunity to fit around other responsibilities with regular shifts through the summer particularly at weekends.
